God is in control

We pray that this latest news finds you doing well. We pray that you have had a good summer and have been able to enjoy some good quality family time. We are very grateful for your love, prayers and support as we continue to navigate through this next season of our lives.

Psalms 121:1-2 (AMP) I will lift up my eyes to the hills ( of Jerusalem) - From where shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

Costa Rica

Even though we are not in Costa Rica at the moment, we continue to minister to some of the people there. One family that we have been helping a lot has had a lot of challenges lately and because of your continued support we are able to continue to help them out with things like food, vitamins, clothes etc.

Wilmer is 13 years old and is in his first year of high school. He is growing like a weed and is in constant need of new clothes. We currently buy him clothes a few times a year and he wants everyone to know how thankful he is. He said it is so nice not to have to wear flood water pants to school anymore.

Your donations have also allowed us to buy vitamins for his dad, Oscar. Oscar has lupus and can no longer work in the fields like he used to. At one of his more recent doctor appointments the doctor said that he was not getting enough nutrients and that he needs to be taking some vitamin supplements. The doctor also said that he needed to eat more fish. We buy the vitamins that he needs about every three months and then bi-weekly we buy fish for the family. UPDATE: Oscar just got some test results back and unfortunately the vitamins that we have been buying are not working for him. The doctor has prescribed some much stronger vitamins along with a few other new medications. We will now start to buy these medicines for him on a monthly basis. If God lays it on your heart to help Oscar with his medicine please email us and we will give you the details.

For the mom, Anita, we have been able to help her with a cleaning job. She actually cleans a house for a missionary family that recently had a baby and we felt God was saying this was a way for us to help two families at once. Anita works for our friends twice a week and we pay her salary. Anita does not know that we have been paying her salary.

Our missionary friends have been such a blessing to us because we are able to send them the money and then they buy what the family needs. This way we are sure the money is going to the things that we want it to. Not only that, but it has given us the opportunity to minister to a missionary family. This is something that God has always laid on our hearts so we are so thankful for this opportunity.

Health News

We are so happy to report that Cindy's health has greatly improved. In fact, the medicine that the doctor has her on has been reduced from six pills a day down to two pills a day. We are continuing to pray that she will get completely off of this medicine and will only have to continue with her vitamin supplements. One area of concern that Cindy still has is her iron levels are very low. We are believing that God is going to restore these levels and that Cindy’s next blood work will be miraculously improved. A great praise report is that Cindy's energy level has greatly improved and from this standpoint you would never know that her iron levels are so low.

We are continuing to help out John's mom as she is continuing to go through her chemotherapy treatments. As can be expected she has good days and bad days, but she has started to do more things on her own. We would appreciate your continued prayers for her and her healing.

We are happy to report that John is doing very well and has not had any health issues.

Haiti

We are so excited to tell you that God opened up the door for us to go on a mission trip to Haiti Sept 8-15 2022. Ever since the big earthquake in Haiti in 2010 Cindy had wanted to go on a mission trip there, but the door was never open for us to go until recently. We will be going with a small team from a church in Tifton, GA. We are really excited for this opportunity to go and serve in Haiti and are looking forward to seeing what God is going to do there.

Haiti is on an island shared with the Dominican Republic and they speak French creole. Unfortunately our Spanish will not be much use to us on this trip, but we have heard there is some Spanish speakers, but that is mainly where the border is between Haiti and the Dominican Republic. In Haiti voodoo is listed as one of the national religions and most people may practice voodoo along with another religion. Haiti is also under a lot of turmoil right now. We would appreciate your prayers as we prepare for this trip especially for prayers of discernment, wisdom and protection.

What is next

Right now we feel like God is telling us that we will continue to rotate our time between North Carolina and Georgia helping out our moms. We also feel like God has been telling us that He wants us to focus on the things of today and not worry about what tomorrow will bring. This is actually something that is very hard for us as we want to know what, where, when, how is going to be our next assignment. God has allowed us to dream of a project for the future, but we do feel like it is not quite the right timing for this project. So we will continue to wait on Him and take it day by day.

Finally, we want to say thank you again for all of you that have stood by us during this season of our lives. Without your continued love, prayers and financial support we would not be able to continue to do what He has called us to do. We are so grateful and words really can not express how grateful we are.

Psalms 118:24(NKJV) This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Matthew 19:26(AMP) With God ALL things are possible.

Jeremiah 17:7-8(NIV) But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes, its leaves are always green, it has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.

Lots of Love and Blessings,
