Time Stateside
We pray that this latest news finds you doing well. We are currently in the states, so hopefully we have gotten to see many of you already or we will get to see you soon.
We have had some great opportunities to share what has been going on in Costa Rica, and we are looking forward to seeing how God is going to align us with new people. However, we are really missing our Costa Rican family and will be looking forward to seeing them all soon.
Pray for John
Since we have been stateside, John has been diagnosed with an ingronial hernia and will be having an appointment with the surgeon on May 2nd to decide if he will have to have surgery. Right now he is pretty uncomfortable and is not able to do many of his normal activities, so we are asking you to pray for his rapid healing. If John will have to have surgery, we need favor that the surgery will be completed before May 18th as this is the day that we are scheduled to fly back to Costa Rica. John has also been struggling with a bronchial condition and needs healing for that as well. We are very thankful to his general doctor as he does not charge him for visits, and this last time he didn't even charge for the two shots that he gave him. Please pray that the doctor will be blessed for his giving.
Land Project
As many of you know, we are looking for land in Costa Rica so we can start to build a community center. We have looked at several places, but we have questions about them because they do not have water or electricity on the property. Also, they are pretty expensive. We are also questioning whether it is a good idea to buy a piece of property without water already on it, as it is getting harder and harder to hook up to the municipality water system.
Before we left for the states, we were presented with another option that could work for our needs right now. This is a piece of property that already has a house with electricity and water. The house is constructed like three attached houses, so we would need to make some modifications to fit our needs. We would probably keep part of the house and demolish the rest of the house so we would have outside space for the kids to play. The great thing about the house is that all of the floors are concrete, so this would work very well for our needs. We would also need to put up a proper fence to help make the property more secure. The cost of this property is $18,000 and then we would need an additional $12,000 for legal fees, the fence, and some additional improvements.
When we were first presented with this option, we thought that the property was too small, but we felt the price was better than some of the other options, so we have been praying and asking God what does He think and we have heard the following things:
1. We must pay cash and have no debt on the property, so we will not be buying any land until we have raised all of the money needed. So far, we have raised about $4000.
2. Small beginnings are humble beginnings.
In other words, we could start with one property and then in the future buy another property if necessary.
We would like for you to join us in prayer about purchasing this property. We know that God will provide in His timing, and we are going to trust Him. If you feel that God is telling you to help us financially with this purchase, then please click here to donate online. If you would like to mail a check, you can mail it to: Wellspring Fellowship P.O. Box 71733 Albany Ga 31708. Please make sure that on either option you mark it for Thalheimer Mission/land project.
We love to hear from our friends and family around the world, so if you would like to share any comments, prayer requests or news about your lives, please drop us a line.
With God ALL things are possible. Matt 19:26.
Lots of love and Blessings,
