Time in the States

Greetings,

Most of April and part of May was spent in the states speaking at various churches, a Christian school, and having some time with family and friends. We were truly blessed by the show of love, support and generosity.and we thank everyone that donated puzzles, coloring books and crafts. The children are already enjoying the new puzzles and coloring books. The 100 piece puzzles are a challenge to many of the kids, but we just keep encouraging them that they can do.

Life back in Costa Rica

We have been extremely busy since returning. We arrived in country on Monday,  May 18th and have hit the ground running. We were picked up from the airport by our wonderful missionary friends, Paul and Vicky, and then were taken to their house for a wonderful meal. Vicky also did not want us to have to go shopping right away so she sent us home with about 4 days worth of food. What a wonderful blessing that was.

Tuesday, we went to see the kids that we work with and we were greeted by a lot of hugs. It was really great to see the smiles on their faces. However, some of them were scolding us for not coming to see them on Monday. Do you  think that they were missing us? We also met with the kids on Thursday and then had our regular Saturday church service with them.

In between working with the children, we have also been moving. We have rented a condo that is a little closer to the children. In order for us to move closer to the children we had to downsize to a 1 bedroom. However, it is a large one bedroom and we are now only a 2 minute drive to the children.

Break Ins

On our last day in the states, we found out that the house that we use for the children had been broken into. As we talked to one of our local volunteers it seemed that all of our stuff was still there but would not know for sure until we got back to Costa Rica. At first, it looked like everything was all there but then we discovered that every pair of our scissors was stolen. We are really grateful to God that these were the only things missing.

About two weeks later we had another break in. This time it seems that nothing is missing. It seems that God's angels are protecting this house and we give Him all the glory. In fact, during our prayer time we have forgiven the people who are breaking in and have been declaring that anyone that steps foot on this property, especially at night, will have a God encounter like never before. We are asking that His light continue to shine in this house and that we will hear testimonies from the people that break in that they encountered God and His angels while they were trying to break in. We are declaring that this land will so radiate the light of Jesus that it will start to change the entire area. Will you please be in agreement with us that no weapon formed against us will prosper and that people in this area will start to encounter Jesus in a new way?

Future Plans

After much prayer we have decided that it is time to raise money to purchase our own land. There is a piece of land that God just keeps highlighting to us and we feel that the location is perfect to build the community center on. The cost of the land is around $12,000 and we are on our way with $945 being raised so far. If you feel that God has called you to give financial to help purchase the land you can donate online by clicking here. If you would prefer to mail a check then please mail the check to Wellspring Fellowship P.O. Box 71733 Albany, GA 31708. Please make sure that all donations are marked for the Thalheimers' land project.

In the very near future, we will start small discipleship classes on Wednesdays. We are thinking that we will have classes for a small number of boys one week and then the following week will be for a small number of girls.

Also, we are praying for some local adults to come and help us. We really need to have local people working alongside of us and we are believing God to send us local people that have the same hearts as ours.
We want to thank you for your continued love, prayers and support. We really would love to hear from you and to hear how we can pray for you.

WIth God ALL things are possible. Matt 19:26.

Lots of love and Blessings,
John & Cindy
